OSU is getting help from Ohio State players, staff and others on social media, which is essential to making the College Football Playoff.

The conference championship games didn’t begin Saturday before Ohio State hoped to hear its name called as a College Football Playoff participant on Sunday.

Utah defeated USC 47-24 Friday night in the Pac-12 Championship, the Trojans suffered their second loss of the season. For OSU, ranked No. 5 in the College Football Playoff this week, No. 4 over USC and open the door to a College Football Playoff berth.

Before Utah coach Kyle Whittingham left the set of the Fox postgame show, Urban Meyer told him, “I’ve got a feeling, Kyle, in Columbus, Ohio, you’re not going to have to pay for food for a while.”

“Coach Day, you’re welcome,” Whittingham replied.

Utah’s win ignited social media as Ohio State players, football staff and former Buckeyes tweeted their thoughts about making the CFP a year ago.
