According to Entertainment Weekly, “We have six minutes,” Lopez said in the film, which gave him very little time to sing a good part of any song, although there were some hits he had to add to the show. “There have to be our singing moments. “Usually, you have a headliner in a Super Bowl. That headliner creates a show and they have to choose what other guests they have, it’s their choice,” Madina told Entertainment Weekly. “Historically it was a shame to say that you need two Latinos to do the work an artist has done.”
Entertainment Weekly noted that when artists such as Madonna and Lady Gaga headed to the Super Bowl in 2012 and 2017, they were each given more than 13 minutes individually.
In the opening scenes of “Halftime”, Lopez and Shakira are shown in the early stages of planning their performances. Lopez said he was told unnamed parties in the NFL should work together for 12 minutes, but the length could increase to a minute or two.
