The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Capitol Attack on Wednesday issued a sapon to former Trump White House adviser Pat Cipolon, forcing him to testify in at least three parts of Donald Trump’s efforts to thwart the 2020 election results.
Sapona marked a dramatic expansion for the group and its commitment to obtaining inside information about how the former president sought to return to office from the unique perspective of the White House adviser’s office.
“On January 6 and earlier, Mr Cipolone repeatedly raised legal and other concerns about President Trump’s actions,” said Benny Thompson, chair of the selection committee, in a statement with Sapona.
“As other former White House advisers have done in other congressional hearings, the panel should ask him to record.
Cipolon was a key witness to some of Trump’s shameful plans to thwart the 2020 election results, which the select committee said in its inquiries as part of a broader and more illegal multi – pronged strategy that culminated in the Capitol attack.
